FYI: The three day wait is THE LAW, and there was no way around it. It appears some tried to "expedite" this and find away around it, but the judge and her assistant do everything by the book. We even begged and had the PGN Chimaltenango and others agree to come sign in person if that would help expedite it. We are days within bringing our child home, and at this point several families would do nothing to jeopardize that besides follow the rules-cross the t's and dot the i's. That is the correct way and sets a precedence for all the families to be treated the same way.
I have always seen this as a "group effort." The S.S. Semillas force has 2 ships: one is with the families that are very involved or have attorneys and continue to find information to protect their adoptions. The other ship is one that has people out off the shore waiting to throw an anchor or steam full force back to the shore. And no one has thrown them a life vest to even try to save them if the ship starts to sink. Many of us continue to hope, pray, believe for the group.
The rules here change every day and they will stay that way until we are on a way back home. I AM VERY DISHEARTENED WITH ANYONE THAT BELIEVES OUR VISIT TO THE COURT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH MORE DELAYS. This is absolutely not true, and without our visit, we would not have a signature and even have the slightest glimmer of hope that we could have our daughter home for her birthday next tuesday. We sat in PGN 8 months (supposed to be 2-3 months), 5 months for birth certificate (supposed to be a week), 5 weeks in PGN Chimaltenango for final approval (supposed to be 3 days), and 1 week at the judge. Nothing has come easy.
With our sheer effort and dedication have mangaged to garnish all the required documentation and approvals required in a mere 2 months, along with making a lot of lifetime friends and acquaintances that we hope to meet up with soon. Some attorneys have managed to spend more months and money than imaginable, and then try to blame other families and their efforts for their own lack of resolution. There are double standards everywhich way you look, but I have tried to close my eyes and imagine us all in the same place - HOME.

Telissa, as I have read your story over the last couple of days, my heart goes out to you and other parents, trying to become parents, for all you have to endure to make a life for a child that desperately needs it. It will definitely be worth it in the end.In this particular case, you could say it's the "destination", not the journey that makes it all worth it.It is your next journey that you should focus on and life you will provide to your daughter. She is a beautiful little girl and you will have a beautiful life together. My prayers and wishes are with you.
