Almost there....

Mariela's mother has made her trip and she is near Guatemala City. The attorney has spoken to her and things remain the same - she is there to give her consent and finalize the adoption - she has not changed her mind. She did not have the original of her national ID card, so the attorney is going to get one of those this week for her. PGN rescheduled the interview for Friday, June 6, so we should know how things went shortly there after. They did not allow her to interview without the card or a certified copy.

We are one step closer, yet this week already feels eternal. I still have lots of prayers going out this week, but a few have already been answered.

The orphanage still needs a court appointment to resolve the holds put on the children during the last raid. They are waiting for their court appointment, but hopefully that will be soon, so as the children's adoptions are finalized, they will be able to get their visas and come home soon.

I never cease to be amazed at the craziness of it all. :-) ~Emily
