Many of you do not know the story of Lydia. Lydia lived at the children's home Casa de Sion since May of this year, in Guatemala. At the time she arrived as Sion, Lydia was 8 pounds at three years old - to put this in perspective, Mariela is 18 months and weights around 22 pounds. She was severly malnourished, she had the effects of fetal alcohol syndrome, and she suffered from cerebral palsey.
I ask that you say a little prayer for her - that she has left her feeble, little body and is somewhere safe. She is a little angel. We continue to pray for Vickie and Casa de Sion in Guatemala, who continue to be under pressure in Guatemala. These orphanages have been taking in additional children, but with no new adoptions, the funds are being pushed to limits in addition to their resources for the children.
Even as orphanages face raids, are threatened to shut down, they continue to press on and support these children. Even though the international adoptions have stopped, the needs of children do not. I had to share a picture of her funeral, only to show the memory of this angel and the continued dedication of others to provide hope for these children. Thank you, Vickie.
