DNA was a MATCH

DNA WAS A MATCH and the family court date interview was Sept. 27th, so we are packing our bags to go visit! The news of the adoptions possibly stopping, has not drowned our hopes of bringing Mariela home. I have made such progress in the past few days in reaching my congress members and getting our friends to help make contact and pass along petitions. They have been so persistant! I have to believe in my heart that this hard work is going to be effective in getting the Guatemalan congress to grandfather our cases in process, so we can call ontinue with our adoptions.

Next week should bring more news on the grandfathering of cases, as the congress is back in session to review the approved bill and make any such amendments. Keep us in our prayers and cross any extra fingers and toes that the legislation goes our way. UPDATE: It may be until November, since congress is trying to postpone until after November elections. We still need them to ammend the law to include provisional language for in-process cases.
