Seems the meetings in D.C. with our congress members went very well!!! Our very own department of state had not clue that from the +/- 20 visas that they had issued for Semillas children, that ZERO of them had come home. They honestly thought we were in good shape and that our children were coming home. A big hug to the 19 families that went and represented us and to our director Nancy, who came up from Guatemala to tell them there was no more that she could do on her end. We really need our Dept. of State to call Guatemala on this one and release these children that have been approved, reviewed, still approved and pass them to their families that have waited long enough.
A big thank you to my mother's dear friend (and our dear friend as well) Sandi who sent us this handmade gift. The prayer shawl and hat for Mariela are here and waiting. Thank you for your continued prayers and blessings. It may not feel like God is moving fast enough, but I hope he has a little miracle in mind in the next few weeks. (Our little model is a little stuffed doll that we have that is a little construction worker in our office). His hard hat is glued to his head, so we couldn't put Mariela's cap on properly, but you get the idea! She is going to love the bright colors as much as I do!
Looks like we will be in Guatemala somewhere around Dec. 12 or 15!!! Please, pretty please, Dear God say that she can come home with us and I do not have to leave her behind again. I can hardly stand the thought of leaving her again....
Sending love to my grandmother who is now our little guardian angel up there in heaven. We have a few requests down here for you to swing on over to Guatemala and give them a little nudge to move faster ;)
